I.      PIPE SPECIFICATION

Eddy current tester for weld seam only for round carbon steel pipe.

The weld seam should keep running straight and keep at 12 o'clock position.

For round pipe testing with sector probe, each pipe OD one probe, the probe quantity shall be confirmed before order is palced according to the pipe OD.

For square or rectangular pipe testing with flat probe which can share one probe, two probes are suggested to buy, one for testing the other for backup.

Main Functions

Alarm

The alarm counter can be set according to different severity of defect (that is defect amplitude).

Parameter Preset

Inspection settings for different applications can be stored in files and simply called up when needed.

Report

Report can be stored automatically or by hand. All reports are stored in the eddy current PC which has a total disk capacity of about 500G.

With encoder the defect position can be more exactly located. The statistics report in Excel will show the total number of alarms.

Installation

Installation

Saturator should be installed at the position far away from flying saw, it should be after water cooling tank and before sizing, and the external burr of tube (if have) should be removed. Space should be reserved for the magnetic saturator.

Marking device should be installed after all rollers and before cutting.

Encoder shall be installed to get exact marking position and to calculate exact tube length for report.

 

 

 

LOCAL MAGNETIC SATURATOR

After processing (i.e. cold-draw, heat treatment, rotary extrusion and jointing etc.), the inner of ferromagnetic material would present obvious non-uniformity of magnetism. Since the noise signal caused by non-uniformity of magnetism is larger than the response signal of defect, it would be difficult to find the defect signal, so we have to use magnetic saturation device to suppress the noise signal of ferromagnetism and to improve the testing sensitivity and the EC penetration depth.

 

COMBINED PROBE

Combined probe collects both the differential coil and the absolute coil in it. It can be used as two probes (one differential probe and one absolute probe), and can detect many kinds of defects to make an efficient and comprehensive testing, such as longitudinal defects and transverse defects, sudden change defects and slow change defects.

 

Guide sleeve is used to guide the pipe go stably through the center of the probe and to make the pipe well magnetic saturated. Users can also make the guide sleeve by themselves.
